DOLLY & ROCKY
Live with Annie
Having historically been very worried about handing my 2 dogs over to someone else to look after, I was so thrilled to have found Jane at the House of Barks. Not only did she totally understand each of their needs and personalities, it really did feel like they were being embraced in to a lovely, comfortable and relaxed home which was evident from the way they were during their stay and when I came to pick them up. Jane clearly has a real passion for dogs and their wellbeing and I couldn’t be happier to have found her, I can’t recommend her and her lovely dog friendly home enough.
PIPER
Lives with Jo
We were thrilled to discover Jane at House of Barks. Our schnoodle Piper was initially a bit jumpy around the other dogs (she is used to being the only dog) - but Jane reassured us that she would make friends and learn how to be part of the pack. Within a few hours of leaving her we had received texts, photos and videos of Piper having the best time ever and looking so relaxed! She quickly settled into Jane's lovely home, cosying up on the sofa for a cuddle and even snuggling up with the kids at night. We all noticed how on her second visit to House of Barks, Piper couldn’t get out of the car and in Jane’s front door quick enough!!
House of Barks is friendly, cosy, professional, flexible and just what we needed. Thank you - we will be back.
POGO & OLIVE
Live with Jim
Both my dogs, Pogo in the past and Olive now, have been to stay with House of Barks and have loved it. How do I know?... When we drop them off, you can tell how excited and happy they are about being there - it’s lovely to see. We live in London, but make the journey to Norfolk before we go on holiday as we know there is nobody better that will look after and have fun with Olive than House of Barks. It’s a massive detour for us, but definitely worth it. It’s like Olive is getting a holiday as well as us. I would definitely recommend House of Barks, and can’t really fault them…. well maybe except that Olive just doesn’t want to leave!!
WINSTON & DAPHNE
Live with Jennie Carey
Well what can I say! A fantastic experience from start to finish, Winston and Daphne loved spending time with Jane and her family. The daily updates from Jane were truly lovely, and from the looks of it they were spoilt rotten with a warm fire and a huge garden to sniff away their day!! Simply Perfect!
SQUIGGLE
Lives with Zara Bolingbroke-Kent
So I dropped Squiggle off with some trepidation as he is rather spoilt and we are joined at the hip! But I had absolutely no reason to worry as Squiggle had the time of his life. Sleeping on the bed, running around with his new friends and getting lots of cuddles. I can not recommend Jane and David enough as they really do take so much care and the dogs are very loved. Squiggle can’t wait to go back.
LUNA
Lives with Barbara Taylor
Our gorgeous Whippet Luna considers the House of Barks to be her second home. Luna stays with Jane and David when we are away for weekend breaks and our longer family holidays. Their house is a home from home for Luna. She loves their beautiful garden and long walks on the nearby beaches of the North Norfolk coast.
We feel so lucky to be able to leave Luna with people who love her and keep her in the manner to which she is accustomed. Jane and David are true animal lovers and we would not trust our precious Luna with anyone else. Luna is truly one of the pack at House of Barks.
ALFIE & DIGBY
Live with Janey Cave
I can’t recommend House Of Barks highly enough. I live on my own and was called down to London to do a last minute interior styling job. With no-one to look after my two not-so-young labs, I called Jane from the train and she came to pick them up from their kennel at my home, took them back to her house and looked after them until I got back that evening. Alfie and Digby were clearly very comfortable and ‘at home’ when I picked them up.
I now have someone I can completely trust to help with the dogs should I get that unexpected call for a last minute job. Currently planning my next holiday and know where I will be booking them into….!!
HECTOR
Lives with Sally Winstanley
‘ Hello - I'm called Hector and I'm a rather gorgeous miniature labradoodle. My family have a holiday house in Norfolk so I go up there all the time. Sometimes I spend the day at House Of Barks.
When my family have a day out, or when they don't have time to give me a long walk, I love going to House Of Barks - wonderful familiar walks, lots of cuddles - its like my second home! They clearly love dogs and I feel very happy and safe there.
Sometimes there are other dogs to walk with ans play in the garden. Looking forward to spending my first night there this summer, maybe I will see you there? You'll love it'.“
BUSTER & BOWERS
Live with Mark Roberts
'Having only ever used a kennel service once, many years ago, and it not being the very best of experiences for my dogs or me, when Jane told me about her new venture I decided to take a much needed holiday abroad and entrust my two with her - Buster, 16, a blind Welshie and Bowers, 10, a very lively Airedale. Knowing how kind, thoughtful and loving Jane is towards animals, I felt more than confident that their individual needs would be more than adequately catered for whilst in her care. I packed a few of their things and Jane came to collect them. During their stay at House of Barks Jane was kind enough to send via whats app picture/ vid updates of how much fun they were having on their holiday. They returned home very happy, brushed, and clean. Bowers was looking leaner from all the running on the beach. I would definitely recommend House of Barks for a happy pup getaway, the pick up and drop off service saved me an extra stress too'.
WINNIE & ROO
Live with Terry & Ness
Winnie and Roo stayed at House of Barks. As soon as we met Jane we felt at ease with the prospect of leaving our very much loved dogs for a whole week. Jane was very reassuring and confident that our girls would be happy there. Indeed they were! When we picked them up again it was obvious that they had been well and truly pampered. Jane gave us regular updates and pictures of Winnie and Roo.
We would thoroughly recommend House of Barks for boarding. Jane is a professional, caring and committed dog lover.
